The water comes from the lake and is safe for everything but drinking, so bring bottled water for personal consumption. The dining room table can be extended to seat eight with beautiful views of the lake while you eat. There is also an outside dining table that seats six. The Great Chazy River Boat landing, where you can launch your boat, is a short distance away on Route 9B. If the lake is rough you can put your kayaks in and paddle or fish in the river. There are two sit on top kayaks in the garage. We have one child and one adult bike you can bring extra bicycles and enjoy a ride along the quiet back roads of Rouses Point and Champlain, where you'll find a variety of beautiful wild flowers, colorful birds, picturesque farms, and other pleasurable scenery. ACVTIVITIES: If adventure is what you are looking for, you can take a drive across the border to Montreal, Canada. The historic area of Montreal, known as "Old Montreal," offers rich culture and beautiful architecture (about a 55 minute drive from the home). While you are in Canada, take advantage of the shopping and excellent dinning. Don't forget your passport! (Not available now due to the virus) Another great city to visit is Burlington, Vermont. A trip to the Church Street Marketplace is a fantastic way to spend a day shopping, dinning or just "People Watching." You will definitely want to experience the charm and culture of this unique city. Plan an evening strolling along the streets of Burlington, listening to free entertainment. Make sure you stop at the famous Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Shop for a treat. There are some unique micro-breweries you may find interesting as well! Not far from the marketplace, is the Burlington Waterfront Park. It is only a short walk to see the gorgeous view of Lake Champlain! It's best to catch the evening sunset over the glistening water and the mountains. You will definitely want to snap a few photographs for your vacation album. The ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center is both educational and fun for all ages. Next to the aquarium is Vermont's largest floating restaurant and cruise ship. The New York State side of Lake Champlain in Rouses Point is full of historical landmarks like Fort Montgomery. Fort Montgomery is the scene of a fierce Revolutionary War battle for control of the Hudson River. Entering into Rouses Point you will find a quaint little village, with a few shops, a trendy Lakeside Coffee Shop, a wine/ liquor store, a laundry mat , restaurants and more. The Amtrak Railway station is also located in Rouses Point. Lake Champlain also has lighthouses: Isle La Motte Light House, Windmill Point Light House and the Burlington Breakwater North Lighthouse. The Lake Champlain cottage provides a quiet place to unwind. This is a wonderful setting for swimmers and nature enthusiasts. This is where you can enjoy families of mergansers swimming by or watch the splendor of the sun rising from the Vermont side of the Lake. The water's edge is a few steps from the front of the cottage. There is only a private access road behind the cottage that serves four other homes. The front room of the cottage is multi-functional. There is a dining area so that you can enjoy the beauty of the lake while you eat, and there is a sleeping area with a queen-size bed so that you can drift to sleep with the sound of waves lapping at the waterfront. The middle room has a cathedral ceiling and knotty-pine walls. It is great for reading, sipping wine, or dancing a waltz in private. The back bedroom with twin beds has a 1/2 bath for convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, pots, silverware, stemware, microwave, electric stove, and refrigerator.

Original Adirondack camp, renovated into a beautiful home, sits on the banks of Lake Champlain. Two master bedroom suites sit at either end of the home with a large cathedral ceiling living room and two-story river stone fireplace in the middle. The living room is glassed on three sides facing the lake for spectacular views of the Vermont Green Mountains going north and south on Lake Champlain. The kitchen goes from Lakeside to roadside with a cathedral ceiling and is completely equipped with all needs. There are two eating areas, one in the kitchen facing the lake and the other sharing the great living room space facing the lake. A sliding door exits on side Lakeside… While the front door goes out to the front yard. A third bedroom is upstairs in the loft but would require someone with great agility to be up there. It has two twin beds and a beautiful view. It would be available for an up charge. One first floor bedroom suite has a queen size bed and a three-quarter bath with the original clawfoot tub. The main first floor master suite has a full bath with the original clawfoot tub and a walk-in shower. The bed is a king size. Both bedrooms have views of the lake and the yard. My grandchildren now make this home a sixth generation home. Our great great grandmother came here and built an original log cabin just down the road. Later grandmother bought this place and took care of her grandmother here during the summers. Our parents inherited the camp in the 80s and refurbished and winterized the entire place. They put in a retaining wall and stairs to the shore. It is a very lake accessible place now. This home houses the artwork of 6 talented generations and is looking for renters whom will respect and appreciate its character as we adventure into renting to in turn care for our mom. A boat mooring will be available during the summer. July and August are the safest months to keep your boat on the mooring at your own risk. Remember this is a large lake and can have extreme waves. You are responsible for your boat . There is a public boat launch in Willsboro Bay. The are also marinas if you care to go that route. A canoe is provided. Lots of lawn furniture make it possible to not only sit on the wall but enjoy the lawn. Lawn care is provided along with trash removal. The location is supreme. You have the summer relaxation of being on the lake in the quiet of the Adirondacks. Yet within an easy drive you have Lake Placid and the Olympic Village and all it offers in the summer. Montreal is an hour and a half away with another Olympic village and so much more. Essex New York is just down the road, a peaceful little Lakeside Village offering eclectic shops and eateries. There you can catch the ferry to visit Shelburne Farms or the museum, Burlington Vermont, take brewery tours, Visit Stowe and a whole numerous of day activities. I can’t say enough for the neighbors on Willsboro point. Many have been there for as long as our family. They are friendly, active and love going for walks, fishing, boating and having summer gatherings. There is no better place to relax enjoy sunrises and the after glow of spectacular sunsets.

It is closest to the water and has the 'best porch' on the property. This cottage compound is ideal for quiet stays, romantic getaways and nature-filled family vacations. The lake is situated between the NY Adirondack and the VT Green Mountains. We are very close to Snug Harbor Marina - Lake Champlain Boatworks and the NYS Peru Boat Launch. The cottage is freshly furnished with a fully-equipped kitchen. Cable TV, DVD player, linens and wireless internet are provided. Opportunities for sight-seeing and sport activities abound. We have hosted bass tournament winners. Stay for a week or get-away weekend (3 night minimum stays with higher nightly rates for shorter stays). Others bicycle all around the NY area near us, with some taking their bikes on the ferries to Vermont Islands or mainland and returning via a different ferry later in the day.

The property slopes down to the beach, which is remarkably like a pool: the lake bottom here consists of large flat plates of stone that make it easy to just walk right into the lake in summer. In the winter, when the lake is frozen, you can ski right out for the best cross country skiing imaginable. The City of Plattsburgh is 5 miles up the road and you can drive to downtown Montreal in exactly 1 hour. Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid are also an hour away. Whether you're here spring, summer, fall or winter, you will be close to everything you might want to do; from swimming to skiing, from kayaking to snowmobiling. THE TWO LIVING ROOMS... The vaulted living area on the main level is an open plan, with plenty of room for entertaining. You'll marvel at the 14 foot vaulted ceiling and french doors overlooking the lake. You'll have a 55 inch Samsung LED Smart TV with DirecTV for those nights when you just want to relax. There is a thermostatically controlled gas fireplace in the living room; no need to haul firewood in the winter. The AuSable River enters Lake Champlain, just behind AuSable Point, creating the ideal environment for the formation of the sand bar and beach. AuSable Point also provides a wonderful launch location for those experienced in kite boarding or kite surfing. The southerly winds are favorable at this location and one can often view these athletes soaring high into the air off the end of AuSable Point. if Kayaking/paddle sports are more your speed, this location offers excellent access to both Lake Champlains protected waters north of AuSable Point, but also to the AuSable River at Baggs Landing. The Kayak Shack rents watercraft by the hour, day or week and offers lessons and launching daily in the summer from their spot at Baggs Landing just 2 miles south on Rt. 9 where the bridge crosses the AuSable River. Point Au Roche State Park – Located next door to our homes, the park offers 12 miles of trails with views of Lake Champlain. There is also a sandy beach and boat launch within the park. Ausable Chasm open to the public since 1870, is one of the oldest attractions in North America. Explore the Chasm on nature trails with scenic vistas and waterfalls. Add rappelling, rafting or tubing in the Chasm for the perfect adventure. Rentals are available at the Chasm. Some fun events include lantern tours, gemstone mining and now since they are open year round, take a wonderful winter tour to see frozen waterfalls and 150 ft icicles. Burlington Vermont is a 30 minute drive from the Lake Champlain Ferry service that's just around the corner.
